Kevin Flanagan is a former ballet dancer. He worked with the legendary Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev for three years, appearing in Nureyev’s world premiere production of Romeo & Juliet and Sleeping Beauty in London and the last appearance of Fonteyn & Nureyev in their signature ballet Marguerite & Armand. Kevin also worked with the Maryinsky Ballet when they performed Le Corsaire in Dublin. He is a founding member of the Dublin City Ballet where he dances roles as diverse as the Prince in Swan Lake and old Dr Coppélius in Coppelia. Kevin has choreographed for stage and TV.
Kevin has attended company class, rehearsals and performances at the legendary Maryinsky ballet company in St Petersburg and will bring his wealth of experience to the visit. Kevin will give a talk on the history of the famous company and its celebrated dancers: Nijinsky, Baryshnikov, Nureyev and Pavlova.
