The Museum of the Holy Blood

The museum contains the shrine for the Holy Blood, a fragment of cloth stained with what is said to be the coagulated blood of Christ, wiped from his body after the crucifixion by Joseph of Arimathea. Since 1149 the relic has been housed by the Basilica of the Holy Blood.

Day 2 - Bruges City Tour

Bruges City Tour

After breakfast you will be met by your guide for a tour of the city. The tour will help you to get your bearings in the city and includes a visit to the Museum of Holy Blood. Bruges is a chocolate lover’s paradise, with numerous chocolate shops throughout the city. Your guide will also take you to the Brewery de Halve Maan to learn everything you need to know about beer making. Entrances and one beer tasting are included.

You will have the remainder of the day to explore the glittering Christmas Markets at your leisure. Your local guide will be happy to recommend the best areas to visit and where to shop.

Day 3 - Full day at leisure

At leisure

Today you will have the full day to explore the city at your leisure and visit the Christmas market stalls in Market Place and Simon Stevin Square. You can pick up wonderful souvenirs, food, drinks, gadgets and Christmas decorations in the numerous little wooden chalets. On the Market Place you will also find an amazing ice skating rink with a huge Christmas tree and music where you can enjoy a glass of gluhwein and soak up the festive atmosphere.  In front of the railway station you can find the ice sculpture festival, where you can admire ice sculptures from various world famous artists and enjoy a drink at the ice bar!

Day 4 - Return home
