Climate

Australia is in the southern hemisphere and the seasons are opposite to those in Europe and North American. There are two climatic zones: the tropical zone (in the north above the Tropic of Capricorn) and the temperate zone. The tropical zone (consisting of 40% of Australia) has two seasons, summer (wet) and winter (dry), while the temperate zone has four seasons. Spring to summer: warm or hot everywhere. Autumn to winter: Northern and central Australia have clear warm days and cool nights; the south has cool days with occasional rain but still plenty of sun.
The north of New Zealand is subtropical and the south has a temperate climate.

Food & Drink

Australia is a meat eater’s paradise.  Beef, game, more exotic meats such as Kangaroo, and of course the stereotypical BBQs and vegemite on toast are all common features of the Aussie diet. However, vegetarians are well catered for and there is a huge range of world cuisines available in Australia due to its multiculturalism. Australia also produces some world class beers and award winning wines across the country.

In New Zealand the delicious fresh lamb, having grazed in clean wide open spaces, is world famous. New Zealand produces some of the world’s best Sauvignon Blanc and other delicious white and red wines, being slightly cooler than neighbouring Australia the wines are delicate and aromatic.

In Hong Kong and Singapore, you try delicious rice, noodles and grilled meats and unusual fruits and vegetables as well as visiting some of the top restaurants in the world.

Holiday highlights

Singapore

Pristine, multi-cultural, super-efficient, and a shopper’s paradise. Often unfairly overlooked for other South East Asian cities, Singapore has so much to offer and is the perfect place to start this remarkable holiday.

Blue Mountains

Australia’s Blue Mountain National Park, located approx. 100km from Sydney, is part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area listed for its remarkable geographic, botanic and cultural values, including protecting sites of Aboriginal cultural significance.

Sydney Opera House

One of the most recognised buildings in the world, designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon and opened in 1973. Situated at Bennelong Point, it is surrounded by lush gardens and the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour.

Great Barrier Reef

The world’s largest coral reef, located parallel to the coast of Queensland and stretching for almost 2,000 km. More than two million people visit the reef every year, which is not surprising considering it is one of the wonders of the natural world - an unforgettable sight for anyone lucky enough to see it.

Ayers Rock (Uluru)

The world's second largest monolith (after Mount Augustus, also in Australia) and an Aboriginal sacred site, this is Australia's most famous natural landmark. The time of day and the atmospheric conditions can dramatically change the colour of Ayers Rock, anything from blue to violet to glowing red.

Kuranda Scenic Railway

No longer used for commuter purposes, the Kuranda Scenic Railway is one of the most unique rail journeys in Australia. Authentic timber carriages snake their way into a lush green world, through hand built tunnels and across the mesmerising Barron Gorge to carry you into a world heritage listed rainforest, that’s millions of years old.

Franz Josef Glacier

The jewel in New Zealand’s glacial crown, the mighty cascades of ice tumbling down a lush green temperate valley towards the sea are a sight to behold.

Bob's Peak

The dominant feature of Queenstown Hill, Bob’s Peak is home to an assortment of activities and breathtaking panoramic views of over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain range.

Waitomo Caves

Unique to New Zealand, the Glowworms radiate their magical luminescent light, illuminating your way for a subterranean boat ride through the spectacular Waitomo Caves.

Hong Kong

A bustling and vibrant city, Hong Kong offers visitors a unique experience and is the perfect place to pick up some last minute souvenirs on the journey home.

Customer reviews

"An excellent way to explore so many different areas."

We had a great holiday, all the flights were on time, coach trips were excellent and the guides were top class. The contrast between each day, especially in Australia, was well thought out and made for a very interesting an enjoyable holiday. It was an excellent way to explore so many different areas in a short period of time, would never have managed it on our own, so many thanks and very well done to all concerned.
