    Your Guided Group Holiday To The Baltics

    Discover the unique cultures and history of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia with us on our 8-night Baltic Highlights tour. Our tour will begin in Vilnius, Lithuania, where we’ll explore the city’s Jewish heritage and gothic architecture. On our journey to our next destination, Riga, we’ll stop at the Hill of Crosses, one of the most holy sites in Lithuania. In Riga, we’ll visit iconic sights like the House of Blackheads, Powder Tower and the Latvian Academy of Sciences building, a symbol of the Soviet Union era known to locals as "Stalin's Birthday Cake." Finally, we’ll make our way to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, located on the Gulf of Finland. In Tallinn, we’ll explore the winding streets of Old Town, the best preserved medieval walled city in all of Northern Europe.

    Travel to Lithuania

    1

    Arrive in Vilnius

    Today we begin our journey through the Baltic States as we travel to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.

    On arrival, we will be met by our local representative at the airport before transferring to our hotel. Our guide will share helpful information about the local area, helping us settle in and begin looking forward to the experiences ahead.

    Walking Tour of Vilnius Old Town

    Time: MorningMorning

    After breakfast, we begin our Baltic adventure with a walking tour of Vilnius Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beautiful architecture, historic buildings and impressive Gothic churches.

    As we explore this charming city, we discover some of Vilnius’ most important landmarks, including:

    • Vilnius Cathedral
    • Gediminas Tower
    • St Anne’s Church
    • Vilnius University

    Our journey continues through the historic Jewish Quarter and the artistic Užupis district, known for its bohemian atmosphere. We also visit the Gates of Dawn, the only remaining gate from the city’s original walls, famous for the revered image of the Virgin Mary above the entrance.

    Visit Trakai Castle

    This afternoon, we travel to the picturesque town of Trakai:

    • Home to the impressive island castle surrounded by lakes and beautiful scenery
    • We enjoy a guided visit of Trakai Castle, discovering more about its fascinating history
    • Then, you have some free time to explore the peaceful surroundings at your own pace

    We then return to our hotel in Vilnius.

    Travel to Latvia

    Discover the Hill of Crosses and Rundale Palace

    Today we travel by coach from Vilnius to Riga, the capital of Latvia.

    • Along the way, we visit the Hill of Crosses, one of Lithuania’s most significant religious sites, where thousands of crosses create a remarkable and moving sight
    • We continue to Rundale Palace, where we enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent Baroque and Rococo palace, known for its elegant interiors and beautiful gardens
    • There will be stops for lunch and comfort breaks during our journey

    On arrival in Riga, we can relax and enjoy the evening at leisure.

    Please note: This is a longer travel day, with approximately 5 hours of driving and an estimated arrival at the hotel around 18:30.

    Guided Tour of Riga

    After breakfast, we discover the highlights of Riga with our local guide.

    • We explore the charming Old Town, seeing the remains of the historic city walls and the impressive Dome Cathedral
    • We continue to St Peter’s Church, where we can enjoy views across Riga Canal, the Daugava River and the city skyline
    • Our tour also introduces us to Riga’s famous Art Nouveau district on Alberta Street
    • We will visit the Art Nouveau Museum and learn more about this distinctive architectural style

    Enjoy Riga at Your Own Pace

    Today is free for you to explore Riga however you wish. You can:

    • Browse the stalls at the Central Market, one of Europe’s largest markets 
    • Visit one of the city’s galleries or museums 
    • Enjoy a coffee in one of the many cafés while taking in the atmosphere of this beautiful Baltic capital

    Travel to Estonia

    Discover Gauja National Park and Parnu

    Time: Full dayFull day

    Today we continue our journey through the Baltic States as we travel by coach from Riga to Tallinn.

    • Our route takes us through Gauja National Park, Latvia’s oldest and largest national park
    • We enjoy a guided visit to the Turaida Museum Reserve and discover more about the region’s history and natural beauty
    • In the afternoon, we stop in Pärnu, a popular Estonian seaside resort
    • We will have time to relax and explore before continuing our scenic journey to Tallinn

    Please note: This is a longer travel day, with approximately 5.5 hours of driving and an estimated arrival at the hotel around 18:30.

    Explore Tallinn Old Town

    After breakfast, we begin our walking tour of Tallinn Old Town, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval city centres.

    As we stroll through the historic streets, we discover highlights including:

    • Toompea Castle, home to the Estonian Parliament (entrance is included)
    • The Lutheran Dome Church (also known as St Mary’s Cathedral)
    • The Church of the Holy Ghost
    • Gothic Town Hall 
    • Town Hall Square

    Today is yours to explore Tallinn at your own pace. You can

    • Wander through the atmospheric medieval streets
    • Browse local shops
    • Visit museums
    • Relax in one of the city’s welcoming cafés

    Return Home

    Depart Tallinn, Estonia

    After breakfast at your hotel, you will have some free time to say goodbye to this charming city. You will then be transferred to Tallinn airport with guide assistance for your flight home.
