We’ll be staying in Madonna di Campiglio, the perfect base to explore northern Italy’s most scenic trails, with free time to relax and enjoy the charm of this Alpine town. Each day brings new adventures, from the dramatic Waterfall Trail in Val di Genova to the tranquil shores of Lago Malghette and the panoramic Three Lakes Walk. Along the way, you’ll wander through valleys, climb over scenic passes and take in breathtaking views of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello–Presena glacier. With a perfect balance of spectacular walking and cultural discovery, this walking holiday captures the very best of the Italian Alps.

    Journey to the Mountains

    Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Verona Airport. From here, we transfer into the heart of the Italian Alps, winding our way through scenic valleys and mountain passes until we reach the charming resort of Madonna di Campiglio.
     

    A First Glimpse of Alpine Life

    Nestled in a high valley surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites, this stylish yet laid-back alpine town will be your base for the week. Spend your first evening exploring its cobbled streets, sampling local cuisine, or simply gazing at the peaks that will soon be your walking playground.

    Nature’s Power and Beauty

    Prepare to be spellbound by the rushing waters and raw power of nature in the Val di Genova. Known since ancient times for its abundance of streams and cascades, this valley offers a sensory feast: the constant rush of water, the cool spray on your face, and the deep greens of moss-covered rocks.

    Walking the Famous Trail

    Our route follows the Waterfall Trail, passing several tumbling falls including the breathtaking Cascate di Nardis. Granite walls rise steeply from the valley floor, and glaciers shimmer in the distance. We finish at Ponte Maria before returning to Madonna di Campiglio by shuttle.

    A Ride to the Heights

    After a leisurely breakfast, we ride the Pradalago cable car high into the mountains, where crisp alpine air greets us. Our trail begins gently, meandering past Lake Pradalago and Rifugio Viviani, with the striking Cima Zeledria towering above.
     

    Lake Malghette

    We cross lush meadows and wind through pine and larch forests before reaching Lake Malghette, a tranquil gem in the Presanella Group. Here, at the charming Malghette Refuge, you can relax and admire the Brenta peaks reflected in the water. We descend via Malga Zeledria before returning to town.

    Vallesinella & the High Waterfalls

    Through the Forest to the Falls

    Today we step into one of the Dolomites’ most photogenic valleys. The Vallesinella is famed for its network of streams that form spectacular cascades, and our path leads deep into its forested heart.
     

    Pastures and Panoramas

    We follow the sound of rushing water to the High Waterfalls (Cascate Alte), then take a break on alpine meadows with sweeping valley views. The descent back to Vallesinella brings us to the shuttle for our return to Madonna di Campiglio.

    Relax at Your Own Pace

    This is your day to shape as you wish. You might choose to relax at the hotel, sip espresso in a sunny piazza, or simply soak in the mountain views from a peaceful terrace.

    For the active, optional walks or bike rides are available. Or take one of the local lifts to enjoy independent high-altitude trails with panoramic views.

    The Three Lakes Walk

    A Journey Above the Clouds

    We begin with a cable car ride on the Cinque Laghi line, opening up magnificent views of the Brenta massif. From the mountain refuge, we follow path no. 232 to Lago Ritorto, a sparkling alpine jewel.
     

    The Beauty of Three Lakes

    Our trail continues to Lago Lambin before descending to Lake Nambino – a serene spot surrounded by forest and meadows. We then return to Madonna di Campiglio, full of mountain memories.

    Lake Valagola & Passo Bandalors

    From Valley to Lake

    A short coach journey brings us to Valagola Valley, where the trail leads to the peaceful shores of Lake Valagola. The calm water reflects the surrounding peaks, creating a picture-perfect alpine scene.

    Views to Remember

    We climb to Passo Bandalors for views of the rugged Dolomites on one side and the Adamello-Presena glacier on the other. The walk ends at Malga Cioca, where you can enjoy a drink on the panoramic terrace before descending by gondola to Pinzolo and returning to Madonna di Campiglio.

    Farewell to the Dolomites

    After breakfast, we transfer back to Verona Airport, taking one last look at the peaks that have been our constant companions.
