    Your Guided Garden Tour Of The North West 

    Travel with us through the counties of Meath, Cavan, Donegal, Tyrone, Fermanagh and Leitrim to experience some of the best gardens in the north west of Ireland. Our garden short break will begin with a visit to Kilgar Gardens,  a series of gardens covering an area of three acres and containing a beautiful rose garden. Then we’ll discover Salthill Gardens, a stunning walled garden which overlooks Donegal Bay and admire the much loved cottage garden of Sea View Garden. Next, uncover the Japanese inspired area in Tattykeel Gardens, learn more about sustainable gardening at the Organic Centre and explore Cavan Burren Park, one of Ireland's hidden heartlands. Before returning home, our final highlight will be Florence Court House & Gardens, which houses the original Irish yew trees. This garden holiday is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the best gardens in Ireland.

    Depart Dublin, Kilgar Gardens & Private Garden Visit

    We depart today, with our expert gardener Brona Dore,  from The Alex Hotel in Dublin. Our first visit of the day is to Kilgar Gardens in Co Meath followed by an included lunch before our visit to a private garden in Belturbet, Co Cavan. Following our visit we will travel to the Slieve Russell Hotel where our tour is based.  An evening meal is included each night during our stay.

    Following a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel for a visit to Salthill Gardens in Mountcharles, Co Donegal. Overlooking Donegal Bay this contemporary kitchen garden consists is cultivated and maintained by Elizabeth Temple.  

    Seaview Garden

    Our day continues with an included lunch before enjoying a visit to Seaview Garden, one of Donegal’s best loved cottage gardens. This is a plan lovers paradise with modern varieties of shrubs and herbaceous plants giving year round colour.  We return to our hotel this afternoon.

    Tatty Keel Gardens

    This morning we start our day with a visit to Tatty Keel Gardens outside Omagh. This landscaped country garden  is planted with conifers, roses, shrubs and perennials. There is a sheltered seating area, a Japanese inspired area with an array of interesting features.

    The Organic Centre

    Following some free time for lunch at The Organic Centre (at own expense) we will enjoy a guided visit of these wonderful gardens in Co. Leitrim. Promoting organic gardening, horticulture and sustainable living we’ll explore the grounds and learn all about this social enterprise.

    Cavan Burren Park

    Our final visit of the day is to Cavan Burren Park with its fascinating geological and archaeological forest landscape. Home to preserved glacial erratics, spectacular megaliths and spectacular views a memorable visit awaits.    

    Florence Court House & Gardens

    After checking out of our hotel we will depart for a morning visit to Florence Court House & Gardens, a beautiful 18th century home set on a sustainable estate and gardens. Highlights include a historic walled garden with its native Irish apple orchard , an old Icehouse, early 19th century water feature and is also home to original Irish Yew Trees.   Free time for lunch (at own expense)

    Return to Dublin

    We return to The Alex Hotel, Dublin in the late afternoon after a wonderful few days discovering the Gardens of the North West.
