    On our holiday to India, we’ll take the Golden Triangle route and experience the exciting cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. On this 14-night holiday, we’ll explore some of the country’s most famed landmarks and architectural marvels. We will visit ancient palaces and monuments, proud fortresses, mosques and bustling cities. Take a rickshaw ride in Old Delhi’s bustling streets and awaken your senses on a kaleidoscope of colour and sound in its buzzing markets. On an excursion to Agra, we will gaze in wonder at the most famous monument to love, the Taj Mahal. We’ll also visit the Amber Fort in the Pink City of Jaipur and, of course, have plenty of leisure time to discover the highlights of India at your own pace. Combining beautiful architecture, delicious food, friendly people and captivating culture, India’s Golden Triangle really does have it all. After our trip of a lifetime in India, you will then enjoy a three-night stay in Dubai, where you can see all the sights or simply relax at your own leisure.

    *In order to preserve the beauty and integrity of the iconic monument, the Taj Mahal, cleaning and restoration work is ongoing at this site. Some phases of the restoration involve scaffolding and mud treatment,  thus a clear view of the entire monument may not be possible.

    Let's depart for our Indian adventure, first stop Delhi.

    Half Day Excursion Of New Delhi

    We have arrived in Delhi! Our local guide will be there to welcome us and kick start our journey.

    Depending on our flight times, we might start exploring right away or begin our sightseeing the following day.

    Our half-day tour of Delhi introduces us to some of the city’s most famous landmarks. We’ll start with Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret and a truly impressive historic monument. Then, we’ll visit the beautiful Humayun’s Tomb, a stunning 16th-century mausoleum built for Emperor Humayun.

    Time to relax and unwind after our adventure.

    Later we get together and enjoy dinner at our hotel.

    Breakfast and evening meals are included for the nine night's stay in India. Eight nights in our hotels and one night cooking demonstration in Jaipur with dinner included.

    Half Day tour of Delhi - Transfer by Coach to Jaipur

    After breakfast, we set out to explore the vibrant character and colour of Old Delhi. Our morning begins with a cycle rickshaw ride through bustling lanes, giving us a close-up glimpse of everyday life and the city’s lively atmosphere.

    Next, we visit Raj Ghat, the peaceful memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, where an eternal flame marks the spot of his cremation. We then pass by the grand Jama Masjid Mosque, admired from the outside, before continuing to the Bangla Sahib Sikh Temple.

    Later in the afternoon, we leave for Jaipur, often called the Pink City. The journey is approximately 270 kilometres and takes around five and a half hours, with comfort stops along the way.

    Wonders of Jaipur - Hawa Mahal and More

    We start the morning by exploring Jaipur’s most iconic sights, beginning at the City Palace Museum, once the grand residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. This impressive complex offers a fascinating glimpse into royal life, with its elegant courtyards and historic treasures. Next, we visit the UNESCO-listed Jantar Mantar, home to nineteen remarkable astronomical instruments built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur’s founder.

    Our tour finishes at the famous Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds, where we admire its stunning honeycomb façade, one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks (from the outside).

    Savour Indian Cuisine - Cookery Demonstration

    In the evening, we visit a local family for a cookery demonstration. We learn the art of making local Indian dishes, bread making, and afterwards enjoy a group dinner.

    Uncover the Wonder of the Amber Fort & Village

    Let's see more of the Golden Triangle on our full day tour of Jaipur. We leave our hotel to visit the magnificent Amber Fort, which overlooks the tranquil Maota Lake. Afterwards, we take a gentle walking tour of Amber Village, where we have the opportunity to meet local residents and experience everyday village life. Our journey up to the fort entrance is by jeep, offering a memorable insight into the royal lifestyle of the Maharajas.

    We then return to the hotel for lunch, with the afternoon free to relax at your leisure.

    Optional Jaipur City Lights & Panorama Tour

    Enjoy an evening drive through Jaipur’s illuminated highlights, including Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall Museum, Jal Mahal on Amer Road, and panoramic night views from Nahargarh Fort. We also pass the brightly lit Amer Fort gates before returning to the hotel.
    The tour runs in open jeeps with four to five guests per vehicle and is a relaxed, enjoyable night experience

    This morning, we leave Jaipur for Dholpur, travelling around 280 kilometres. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a scenic stop at the impressive Chand Baori Stepwell in the village of Abhaneri. The journey takes about six hours, with comfort stops en route.

    On arrival in Dholpur, we check into our hotel for a two-night stay. Take some time to relax and unwind after the day’s travel.

    Today is a new experience as we take a half day guided tour to Gwalior Fort. It was once a place that was regarded as central and northern India's most impregnable fortress! Next, we discover the Gujari Mahal Museum. It was once home and palace to a fussy princess, the Gujari Mahal Museum was built by Raja Man Singh for his wife Mrignayani, after she demanded a separate palace for herself! She was a royal after all and one would not expect less.

    Fatehpur Sikri - Afternoon Tea - Transfer to Agra

    This morning, we leave Dholpur and head towards Agra, beginning with a visit to the revered pilgrimage site of Machkund Temple.

    On the way to Agra, we stop to explore the fascinating deserted red sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri, often called the Ghost City. Todays journey covers around 270 kilometres and takes approximately three hours, including comfort breaks. Built by the powerful Emperor Akbar in 1569, Fatehpur Sikri was created to honour the saint Sheikh Salim Chisti, who blessed Akbar and foretold the birth of his three sons. Our guided tour reveals the rich history of this remarkable site.

    We then arrive in Agra, where we’ll take a moment to relax with a cup of tea while enjoying views of the jewel of Agra; the Taj Mahal in the distance. On a clear day, the setting sun casts a warm golden glow over this iconic monument, a perfect way to end the day.

    Guided Tour of Agra

    Let’s experience the sunrise at Agra’s magnificent Taj Mahal! As the morning light softly illuminates this iconic monument, we soak in the splendour and romance of one of the world’s greatest symbols of love. Sunrise provides the perfect gentle light for photography, casting a magical glow over the mausoleum built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife. It’s easy to see why the Taj Mahal remains one of India’s most treasured highlights.

    We also enjoy a guided tour of Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s finest Mughal forts. Built in the 16th century amid times of conflict, this impressive red sandstone fortress played a key role during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. From here, we take in views of the Taj Mahal in the distance and the Yamuna River flowing alongside.

    The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so this excursion may be rescheduled to sunset for operational reasons.

    We say farewell to our newfound friends and fond memories of our journey in the Golden Triangle of India. We transfer to Delhi airport for our flight to Dubai.

    Spend the next three nights in Dubai on a bed and breakfast basis.

    The next two full days, are at leisure to fully discover Dubai at your own pace. Enjoy an independent stay in Dubai, a cosmopolitan city where the traditional and contemporary meet. You could visit Jumeirah Mosque, Dubai’s largest mosque, or Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city. Relax on the beach, discover the deserts, or shop till you drop in one of the many Shopping Malls Dubai has to offer!
