    • In order to preserve the beauty and integrity of the iconic monument, the Taj Mahal, cleaning and restoration work is ongoing at this site. Some phases of the restoration involve scaffolding and mud treatment,  thus a clear view of the entire monument may not be possible.

    • For departures from Dublin, outbound and return flights will be via Istanbul or Dubai, alternative routes may be available .

    Half Day Delhi – Qutub Minar & Humayun’s Tomb

    On arrival in Delhi, we are welcomed by our local guide and our journey begins.

    Depending on our flight times, we either start exploring straight away or begin our sightseeing the following day. Our half-day tour of Delhi introduces us to some of the city’s most important landmarks. We start with Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret and a remarkable historic monument that has stood here for centuries. Later we visit the fascinating Humayun's Tomb a beautiful 16th century building and tomb of the Emperor Humayun.

    Free Time at Leisure to Relax and Unwind

    After a day of travel and sightseeing, the rest of the day is free to relax and take things at a gentle pace. Later, we gather for dinner at our hotel, a good chance to unwind and get to know one another.

    Please note:

    Breakfast and evening meals are included throughout our nine night stay in India. This includes seven nights of dinners at our hotels, as well as a special cooking demonstration in Jaipur, where we enjoy dinner and learn how to prepare some traditional Indian dishes.

    Tour of Delhi Half Day - Transfer to Jaipur by Coach

    After breakfast, we set out to discover the character and colour of Old Delhi. Our morning begins with a cycle rickshaw ride through the bustling lanes, offering a close-up look at everyday life and the city’s lively atmosphere.

    We then visit Raj Ghat, the tranquil memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, where an eternal flame marks the site of his cremation. Our route takes us past the grand Jama Masjid Mosque, seen from the outside, before continuing to the Bangla Sahib Sikh Temple.


    Later in the afternoon, we depart for Jaipur, often referred to as the Pink City. The journey covers approximately 270 kilometres and takes around five and a half hours, with comfort stops along the way. Sit back and relax and watch as the bustling city turns into countryside.

    Arrival to the Jewel of India - Jaipur

    We have arrived in the jewel of India Jaipur (fondly known as the Pink City) where we spend three nights. Let's settle in and relax after our journey. 

    Jaipur: City Palace, Jantar Mantar & Hawa Mahal

    Jaipur Wonders - City Palace Museum & Jantar Mantar

    We enjoy a morning discovering Jaipur’s most iconic sights, beginning at the City Palace Museum, the former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. This grand complex offers an insight into royal life, with elegant courtyards and historic artefacts.
    We then explore the UNESCO-listed Jantar Mantar, home to nineteen impressive astronomical instruments built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur.

    Our visit ends at the famous Hawa Mahal (from the outside), or Palace of Winds, where we admire its beautiful honeycomb façade, one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.

    Experience Indian Cuisine - Cookery Demo

    In the evening, we visit a local family for a cookery demonstration. We learn how to prepare traditional Indian dishes and freshly made breads, before enjoying a relaxed dinner together with our group.

    Jaipur Amber Fort & Village Tour

    Experience the Wonder of Amber Fort & Village

    We depart our hotel for a visit to the magnificent Amber Fort, overlooking the peaceful Maota Lake, followed by a gentle walking tour of Amber Village, where we have the chance to meet local people and see everyday life in the village. We travel up to the fort entrance by jeep, offering a memorable glimpse into the royal lifestyle of the Maharajas.

    We then return to our hotel for lunch, with the rest of the afternoon free to relax at leisure.

    Optional Jaipur City Lights & Panorama Tour

    Enjoy an evening drive through Jaipur’s illuminated highlights, including Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall Museum, Jal Mahal on Amer Road, and panoramic night views from Nahargarh Fort. We also pass the brightly lit Amer Fort gates before returning to the hotel.
    The tour runs in open jeeps with four to five guests per vehicle and is a relaxed, enjoyable night experience

    Transfer to Dholpur & Chand Baori Stepwell Visit

    Abhanaeri Village Visit Chand Baori Stepwell

    This morning, we depart Jaipur for Dholpur, travelling approximately 280 kilometres, with a scenic stop en route to visit the impressive Chand Baori Stepwell, allegedly one of the world's largest and deepest step wells, in the village of Abhaneri.  The journey takes around six hours, with comfort stops along the way.

    On arrival in Dholpur, we check in to our hotel for a two-night stay. Relax and unwind after the days journey.

    Dholpur: Gwalior Fort Half-Day Tour

    Visit Gwalior Fort & Gujari Mahal Museum

    After breakfast, we enjoy a half-day guided excursion to the impressive Gwalior Fort, once considered the most impregnable fortress in northern and central India. We then continue to the Gujari Mahal Museum, originally built by Raja Man Singh as a palace for his wife, Princess Mrignayani, following her request for a residence of her own. She was a royal after all and one would not expect less.

    This tour is a must-do for history lovers, bringing to life the grandeur, intrigue, and legends of India’s past rulers.

    The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. Relax and unwind at your hotel.

    Dholpur to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri & Afternoon Tea

    Fatehpur Sikri & Afternoon Tea with View of Taj Mahal

    This morning, we leave Dholpur and transfer towards Agra, starting with a visit to the revered pilgrimage site of Machkund Temple.

    En route to Agra, we stop to explore the fascinating deserted red sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri, also known as the Ghost City. The journey covers approximately 270 kilometres and takes around three hours, including comfort stops. Built by the mighty Emperor Akbar in 1569, Fatehpur Sikri was created to honour the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti, who blessed Akbar and prophesied the birth of three sons. Our guided tour uncovers the rich history of this remarkable city.

    We have arrived in Agra! We take time out to relax with a cup of tea while enjoying stunning views of the Taj Mahal in the distance. On a clear day, the setting sun casts a warm golden glow over this iconic monument, providing the perfect end to the day.

    Fall in Love with the Iconic Taj Mahal

    Let’s experience the sunrise at Agra’s monumental masterpiece, the Taj Mahal! As the morning light gently illuminates the monument, we take in the splendour and beauty of one of the world’s greatest symbols of love. Sunrise offers the perfect soft light for photography, casting a magical glow over this iconic mausoleum, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife. It’s no wonder the Taj Mahal is one of India’s most treasured highlights.

    We also enjoy a guided tour of Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s finest Mughal forts. Built in the 11th century during a time of invasions and battles, this impressive red sandstone fortress was a key site during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. From here, we soak up views of the Taj Mahal in the distance and the Yamuna River flowing alongside.

    The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays. This excursion may change to sunset due to operational reasons.
