We’ll begin in the Kathmandu Valley, with visits to the Buddhist sites of Boudhanath and Swayambhunath, both of which offer impressive views across the city. Head out on safari and enjoy a guided walk in Chitwan National Park, home to a variety of wildlife.There’s plenty to experience throughout the holiday, with a canoe trip along the Rapti River, trekking through the Himalayan foothills, cycling around Pokhara and a sunrise yoga session. We’ll also have the opportunity to experience Nepalese cuisine during an interactive cooking lesson with a local family and learn about local Tharu culture at a traditional dance evening.     Today, we set off for Delhi, India, where our journey begins before continuing to Nepal.

    Delhi Arrival & Guided City Tour

    On arrival in Delhi, India, we’ll meet our guide and transfer to our hotel. After some time to settle in, we’ll head out in the afternoon for a guided tour of Delhi, taking in some of the city’s fascinating sights.

    • Visit Agrasen Ki Baoli, a historic stepwell in the heart of Delhi
    • See Dhobi Ghat, a small colony of washermen community, mix with the locals
    • Visit Birla Temple, one of Delhi’s well-known Hindu temples.

    After our tour, we’ll return to our hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Tomorrow, we’ll continue our journey to Kathmandu, Nepal.

    Explore Kathmandu’s Local Area & Markets

    On arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital, we’ll meet our local guide and transfer to our hotel, where we’ll stay for the next three nights.

    • Discover Kathmandu on an orientation walking tour (approx. 2 hours) of the local area and markets with our guide
    • After our walking tour, we’ll have some free time to settle in and enjoy Kathmandu at our own pace

    Kathmandu, Boudhanath & Patan

    Discover Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath & Historic Patan

    Today we explore some of Kathmandu’s most important Buddhist and cultural landmarks, from its lively neighbourhoods to ancient temples and stupas.

    • Take a morning walking tour of Thamel and its local markets.
    • Visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest Buddhist stupas.
    • Join the monks for chanting at a monastery in Boudhanath.
    • Visit Swayambhunath, one of Nepal’s oldest and holiest Buddhist Chaityas, overlooking Kathmandu.
    • Explore Patan (Lalitpur), known for its temples, traditional Newari architecture and artistic heritage.

    We’ll return to our hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Stroll through the local markets and soak up the charm of Kathmandu.

    Bhaktapur Medieval City Tour & Local Family Dinner

    Today we’ll travel 14km east of Kathmandu to the beautifully preserved medieval city of Bhaktapur, where traditional architecture, temples and historic squares offer a glimpse into Nepal’s rich Newari heritage. 

    • Explore Bhaktapur and its medieval Newari architecture.
    • Discover Nyatapola Temple, dedicated to a tantric goddess.
    • Visit Bhairabh Temple, dedicated to Bhairav, the god of terror.
    • See the 15th-century Palace of 55 Windows, the Golden Gate and Pottery Square.
    • In the evening, we’ll visit a local family in their home for a cultural interaction and cooking demonstration, before enjoying dinner together.

    Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park & Safari

    Chitwan National Park Jeep Drive

    Time: Early morning departureEarly morning departure

    Leaving Kathmandu after an early breakfast, we’ll set off on a scenic 6½-hour drive to Chitwan, passing through Nepal’s changing landscapes as we make our way towards the lush lowlands of the Terai. On arrival, we’ll check into our accommodation for the next two nights.

    • Head out on an afternoon jeep safari in UNESCO-listed Chitwan National Park
    • Search for the famous one-horned rhinoceros, the elusive Bengal tiger, leopards and a variety of other wildlife and birdlife
    • Lunch and dinner are included today

    The evening is free to relax and enjoy our surroundings.

    Explore the Rapti River & Chitwan’s Forests

    Time: Full Day Full Day

    Today we’ll experience Chitwan from the water and on foot, exploring its waterways and forest landscapes with a local naturalist and guide.

    • Take a peaceful canoe ride along the Rapti River, looking out for the rare gharial crocodile, wildlife and birdlife along the riverbanks
    • Enjoy a guided 2–2.5km nature walk (approx. 1–1.5 hours) through the forest, with the chance to learn more about Chitwan’s wildlife and diverse habitats
    • In the evening, experience Tharu culture with traditional performances, including stick and fire dances, at our accommodation

    Lunch and dinner are included today.

    Chitwan to Pokhara Scenic Drive

    Pokhara - Tibetan Settlement & Davis Falls

    Time: Full DayFull Day

    After breakfast, we’ll leave Chitwan behind and travel for approximately 5½ hours through rural villages, farmland and forested hills as the landscape gradually changes from the Terai lowlands towards the Himalayan foothills. On arrival in Pokhara, we’ll check into our hotel for the night before heading out to explore some of the area’s highlights.

    • Visit Davis Falls, one of Pokhara’s best-known natural attractions
    • Discover Gupteshwor Cave
    • Visit Tashiling Tibetan Settlement, including its monastery, small shops and local handicraft centre

    Trek the Himalayas - Khade to Australian Camp & Dhampus

    Walk Through the Himalayan Foothills

    Time: Full dayFull day

    This morning, we’ll drive from Pokhara to Khade, the starting point for today’s trek. From here, we’ll set off towards Australian Camp.

    • Begin with a steep climb along stone steps for approximately two hours
    • Reach Australian Camp, set on a ridge with views of Annapurna South (7,219m), Hiunchuli (6,440m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m) and Lamjung Himal
    • Continue downhill along a forest trail towards Dhampus, known for its traditional slate-roofed houses
    • On a clear day, take in views across the Annapurna Himalayan Range before settling into Dhampus, our base for tonight

    Simple lunch and dinner are included today.

    Trek Through Rural Nepal to Astam

    This morning, we’ll leave Dhampus and begin our trek towards Astam, following the ridge through the Himalayan landscape.

    • Trek approximately 12km from Dhampus to Astam
    • Take in panoramic views of the Annapurna mountain range along the way
    • Experience rural village life as we make our way towards Astam
    • On a clear evening, enjoy the sunset over the surrounding landscape

    Final Trek Through the Himalayas

    This morning, we’ll leave Astam and begin the final stretch of our Himalayan trek, making our way towards Hemja.

    • Trek from Astam towards Jijharka, where we can stop for refreshments at a local shop
    • Continue downhill through chestnut forests, taking in views across the Hemja and Mardi Valleys
    • Finish our Himalayan trek in Hemja before transferring to Pokhara

    On arrival in Pokhara, we’ll have the afternoon at leisure to relax before another day of adventure tomorrow.

    Pokhara Cycling Adventure & Phewa Lake

    Cycle Through the Pokhara Countryside

    Today we’ll explore the countryside surrounding Pokhara by bike, taking on a mix of uphill and downhill cycling with views across Phewa Lake.

    • Cycle uphill from Lakeside for approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to a hilltop Buddhist stupa
    • Take some time to explore the stupa and enjoy the surrounding views
    • Continue uphill for approximately 30 minutes towards Raniban
    • Enjoy a 45-minute downhill cycle towards Phewa Lake
    • Cycle for a further 30 minutes to Pame

    After completing the ride, we’ll return to our hotel in Pokhara by vehicle.

    Yoga in Pokhara & Return to Kathmandu

    Morning Yoga Session & Scenic Drive to Kathmandu

    We’ll start our final morning in Pokhara with time to stretch and unwind after our recent trekking and cycling adventures.

    • Enjoy an early one-hour yoga session at our hotel, or similar, with an instructor
    • After breakfast, we’ll take a scenic drive of approximately seven hours to Kathmandu, passing through Nepal’s changing landscapes along the way
    • On arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll check into our hotel
    • The rest of the evening is free to explore the colourful streets and markets of Thamel, pick up some last-minute gifts or simply enjoy the atmosphere of Nepal’s capital

    Today is yours to enjoy Kathmandu at your own pace. Our local guide will be happy to offer suggestions on how to make the most of the day.

    Take a rickshaw ride through the winding alleyways, visit one of the city’s many temples, browse the bustling markets for some last-minute shopping or spend some time in a rooftop café and soak up the atmosphere.

    Today we’ll say goodbye to Nepal after our journey through the Himalayas.
