Sorrento Coast, Pompeii & Capri

Upon arrival in Naples, you will be met at the airport by our local representative and transferred to your hotel in Sorrento.

Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival at the hotel. This is a relaxed opportunity to get to know other members of the group and pick up helpful tips and information from our local guide ahead of your Sorrento holiday.

After breakfast, we’ll depart the hotel for Sorrento’s port and travel by hydrofoil to the enchanting island of Capri. Renowned for its beauty and the clear blue sea that surrounds it, Capri is one of the standout highlights of this Sorrento Coast tour. 

Take some time to: 

• Stroll through Capri town 
• Visit the famous Augustus Gardens 
• Admire the incredible views 

There will also be free time for a leisurely lunch or an optional visit to the famous Blue Grotto before returning to your hotel.

This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Sorrento Town, followed by free time to explore at your own pace. 

This is a chance to get a closer feel for: 

• The town’s historic streets
• Coastal setting
• Relaxed southern Italian atmosphere

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the excavations of the ancient Roman town of Pompeii.

On a guided tour of the site, we’ll learn how daily life in Pompeii was preserved after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.

Today is free to spend at leisure in Sorrento. For those staying in hotels not based in Sorrento town, a transfer to and from the centre will be provided. 

Piazza Tasso is the hub of the town, where you can view from the outside: 

• Baroque Church del Carmine Maggiore
• 18th-century Palazzo Correale 
• Basilica of St. Antonino

The pretty historic quarter is close by, with cafés, shops and small streets to discover. Sorrento’s fishing village, Marina Grande, is a lovely spot for an al fresco lunch and perhaps a refreshing dip in the sea.

Join us for a memorable guided excursion along one of Italy’s most iconic coastlines, the Amalfi Coast.

Departing from your hotel, we’ll head to Sorrento’s port and board a boat to take in the spectacular coastal scenery: 

• We’ll stop in the charming town of Positano, known for its narrow streets, boutique shops and picture-perfect views 
• Then, we continue to the beautiful seaside town of Amalfi 
• This is where we’ll enjoy an included visit to the serene Cloister of Paradise, a peaceful haven steeped in history

Today is a free day to relax or relish in some independent sightseeing on the Sorrento Peninsula. Our guide will be on hand to suggest activities based on your interests, whether you prefer a slower day by the coast or time exploring more of the local area.

Today is another full day at leisure. There are many charming towns and villages around the Sorrento Peninsula that can be reached by public transport.
