Western Canada & The Rockies including Calgary

Welcome to Canada! On arrival in Vancouver, we’ll meet our local representative and transfer to our hotel.

The remainder of the day is yours to relax, settle in and get your first taste of this vibrant west coast city.

This morning, we’ll discover some of the city’s best-known sights on our Vancouver guided city tour.
We’ll visit expansive Stanley Park, home to an impressive collection of Indigenous totem poles, before taking in the waterfront at English Bay and the distinctive architecture of Canada Place. We’ll also:

• Explore lively Robson Street
• Experience the sights and aromas of Chinatown
• Wander through historic Gastown, Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace. You can:

• Continue sightseeing
• Browse the local shops
• Simply relax and soak up Vancouver’s atmosphere

Our guide will be happy to recommend places to visit depending on our interests.

Today, we’ll cross to Vancouver’s scenic North Shore for a visit to the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Suspended high above the Capilano River and surrounded by lush rainforest, it offers us a memorable way to experience the natural beauty just beyond the city.

Later, we’ll return to Vancouver and enjoy our final evening at leisure in this vibrant coastal city.

Today, we journey north from Vancouver and travel along the spectacular Sea-to-Sky Highway.

• We’ll take in dramatic views of fjords, towering mountains and beautiful coastal scenery
• Then, we’ll arrive in Whistler, the famous mountain resort that hosted events during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games
• The afternoon is yours to explore the village at leisure before we check into our hotel in Whistler or Squamish

Approximate distance: Vancouver to Whistler – 121km. Whistler to Squamish – 50km, including sightseeing, comfort stops and free time for lunch.

After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey to Clearwater.

Today gives us a wonderful opportunity to watch British Columbia’s landscapes change around us, from the rugged wilderness of the Coast Mountains to the rolling ranch lands of the Cariboo region.

Approximate distance: 450km, including sightseeing, comfort stops and free time for lunch.

This morning, we’ll travel through magnificent Mount Robson Provincial Park.

• This is home to Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies
• We’ll want our cameras ready as we take in views of its impressive snow-capped summit
• We’ll continue along the scenic Yellowhead Highway before arriving in Jasper, nestled within Jasper National Park
• Surrounded by mountains, forests, lakes and meadows, this is our introduction to some of the remarkable landscapes of the Canadian Rockies

Approximate distance: 320km, including sightseeing, comfort stops and free time for lunch.

Today brings one of the great scenic journeys of our Canadian adventure as we travel along the Icefields Parkway towards Banff or Canmore. Along the way, we’ll be surrounded by:

• Soaring mountain peaks
• Turquoise lakes
• Pristine forests
• Glacier-fed rivers

One of today’s highlights is our Snowcoach experience on the Athabasca Glacier, part of the vast Columbia Icefield. Afterwards, we’ll continue to Banff or Canmore, where we’ll spend the next two nights surrounded by the beauty of the Rockies.

Approximate distance: 290km, including sightseeing, comfort stops and free time for lunch.

This morning, we’ll enjoy a Banff sightseeing tour, discovering some of the highlights of Banff National Park, Canada’s first national park. We’ll see:

• The historic Banff Springs Hotel
• Tunnel Mountain
• The fascinating Hoodoo rock formations
• The picturesque Bow Falls

Later, we’ll travel to beautiful Lake Louise, where turquoise waters sit beneath towering mountain peaks and nearby glaciers. It’s one of the most recognisable landscapes in the Canadian Rockies and a memorable highlight of our journey.

We’ll return to our hotel in Banff or Canmore, where the remainder of the afternoon is yours to relax and soak up the magnificent mountain surroundings.

This morning, we’ll travel east along the Trans-Canada Highway to Calgary, a vibrant city where modern urban life meets western heritage.

On arrival, we’ll enjoy a Calgary guided city tour, taking in some of the city’s best-known sights. All viewed from the outside, we’ll see:

• Calgary Tower
• The Stampede Grounds
• Stephen Avenue
• The site of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games

Our final evening is free to experience Calgary at your own pace. You can:

• Explore more of the city
• Pick up some last-minute souvenirs
• Enjoy dinner at one of its many restaurants

We’ll enjoy a relaxed final morning in Calgary before transferring to Calgary International Airport for our return flight home. As our Western Canada and Rockies adventure comes to an end, we’ll say farewell to Canada with wonderful memories of Vancouver, Whistler, Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise and Calgary.
