Mekong River Cruise including Cambodia & Vietnam (Siem Reap - Ho Chi Minh)

Depart for your overnight flight to Siem Reap, where your Cambodia adventure begins.

On arrival in Siem Reap, we’ll meet our local representative at the airport and transfer to our hotel. 

Once we’ve checked in, we can relax and enjoy some free time at the hotel or start exploring Siem Reap independently. Our local expert guide will be happy to suggest activities to suit your interests.

Today, let’s explore the Angkor Temples of Cambodia. We’ll begin at Angkor Thom before continuing to Ta Prohm.

• Visit Angkor Wat, the most famous of the Angkor temples and the largest religious monument in the world. Originally built as a Hindu temple, it later became a Buddhist place of worship.
• Take in the sunset views from a scenic viewpoint.

Please Note: Angkor Wat temple is still considered a sacred site and appropriate attire must be worn during the visit of the Bakan Tower. Please ensure to cover your knees and shoulders during the visit. Angkor Wat temple will be closed on the Buddhist Sabbath Days, religious days and four days a month in accordance with the Lunar calendar.

Today, we’ll spend the morning experiencing local life in and around Kok Sangkai village.

• Visit the CMAC Museum to learn about the dangers of landmines and unexploded ordnance in Cambodia, and the work being done to clear them.
• Continue to Kok Sangkai village, where our guide will share an insight into local life and how our visit supports community projects.
• Meet local families who earn a living growing vegetables, raising chickens and ducks, and making bamboo sticky rice.
• Enjoy a simple Khmer-style lunch in the community before visiting a local fish farm and an ancient pagoda, where we’ll experience a traditional monk’s blessing.

Back at the hotel, we can relax or spend some time exploring Siem Reap at our own pace. We might like to visit Psar Chass open-air market, browse the stalls and soak up the local atmosphere.

This evening, we’ll get together for dinner at a local restaurant, with a cocktail included, before our cruise begins.

This morning after breakfast, we’ll check out of our hotel and travel from Siem Reap to Kampong Cham. We’ll enjoy lunch before boarding our Mekong River cruise.

We’ll spend the next seven nights cruising along the Mekong River towards Vietnam, with shore excursions and onboard entertainment along the way.

• Join us for welcome drinks and a traditional Krama demonstration before dinner.
• Enjoy dinner onboard as we cruise towards Angkor Ban.

This morning, we’ll explore Angkor Ban and get a glimpse of rural life in Cambodia.

• See the village’s traditional wooden stilt houses
• Admire the distinctive blue wooden houses, a colour many locals believe brings happiness to the home

After lunch, we’ll travel by local tuk-tuk to Silk Island and discover its traditional weaving heritage.

• Discover the Cambodian silk-weaving process, from silkworm to loom
• Visit local families and see skilled artisans weaving the traditional Cambodian krama
• Learn about the island’s weaving traditions and the role silk plays in local life

We’ll enjoy the rest of the evening onboard our ship and spend the night in Koh Chen.

This morning, we’ll explore Koh Chen before travelling to Oudong, the ancient capital of Cambodia.

• Take a walking tour through Koh Chen village and meet a local copper and silversmith
• Travel by coach to Oudong and visit the Vipassana Dhura Meditation Center
• Return to our ship for lunch onboard

Later, we’ll arrive in Phnom Penh and experience a little of the Cambodian capital.

• Travel by traditional pedal-powered cyclo to Raffles Hotel Le Royal.
• Visit the iconic Elephant Bar and enjoy a cocktail.
• Return to our ship for dinner onboard.

We’ll spend the night in Phnom Penh.

After breakfast, we’ll disembark and begin our guided tour of Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital. We’ll visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda complex, where we’ll see gold and bejewelled Buddha statues.

After lunch, we’ll travel to Choeung Ek, a poignant memorial site and former killing field, where a Buddhist stupa honours the victims.

Later, we’ll return to our ship and watch a traditional Khmer Apsara dance performance. We’ll enjoy dinner onboard and spend the night in Phnom Penh.

Today, we’ll continue our journey along the Mekong River towards Vietnam, with time to relax onboard and enjoy the changing scenery along the way.

• See a floating village and get a glimpse of daily life along the river, including traditional freshwater fish farming
• Visit the Cao Dai Temple and learn more about Vietnam’s distinctive spiritual heritage.
• Return to our ship and enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lion dance performance

We’ll enjoy dinner onboard and spend the night in Tan Chau.

This morning, we’ll explore the Mekong’s smaller waterways by boat and get a closer look at life along the Mekong Delta.

• Pass local craft villages known for handmade Ca Rang clay stoves and see floating fish farms along the river
• Visit a sacred temple that serves as a spiritual centre for the local community

Later, we’ll take a traditional small boat to Tiger Island, passing family-tended rice paddies and vegetable gardens along the way.

• Visit the Tiger Spirit Temple
• Return to our ship for a relaxed cocktail competition

We’ll enjoy dinner onboard to round off the day.

This morning, we’ll explore Long Xuyen Floating Market by sampan, meeting local residents who live in floating houses and learning more about their stories and way of life on the water.

This evening, we’ll enjoy our farewell dinner onboard, accompanied by traditional folk music from Southern Vietnam. 

We’ll spend the night in Can Tho.

After breakfast, we’ll say farewell to our ship and disembark in Can Tho.

The rest of the day is ours to enjoy at our own pace. We can explore Can Tho and its surroundings or simply relax and unwind at our resort.

Today, we’ll transfer to Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, where we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before exploring the city’s key sights.

• Visit Vinh Nghiem Pagoda and the War Remnants Museum
• See Reunification Palace, Central Post Office and Saigon Opera House

Today, we’ll visit the Cu Chi Tunnels and explore the vast underground network used during the Vietnam War.

• Learn about life in the tunnels and the strategies used during the war
• Discover more about Vietnam’s wartime history through a documentary and guided tour

After our visit, we’ll return to our hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast we will check out of our hotel and transferred to Ho Chi Minh airport and check in for our homeward flights.

Arrive home after an unforgettable journey through Cambodia and Vietnam.
