Before our river cruise begins, we’ll spend the night in Cologne and get to know our fellow passengers during a welcome drink. After a guided city tour of Cologne we’ll board our ship and set sail on our 4 star MS Amadeus ship. From the impressive Reichsburg Castle to the charming town of Koblenz, each port we visit on our river cruise holiday has so much to offer and is full of historical gems and cultural sights.

Upon arrival in Dusseldorf, we will be met at the airport by our local representative and transferred to our hotel in Cologne where we will have the day at leisure.

Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival at our hotel. This is a great opportunity to get to know other members of our group and to pick up plenty of tips and information from our local guide.
Discover Cologne & Embark on your River Cruise
Cologne city tour
After breakfast we will check out of our hotel, we will be met by our local guide who will assist us in the transfer to Cologne port with a guided Cologne city tour en-route. Here we can explore the surroundings of the famous Cathedral and the Old Town. In the narrow, cobbled streets of the old town and in the busy squares, such as the Old Market or the Hay Market, you will get a feeling for life in this city, both past and present.
Embark on your River Cruise
In the afternoon we will be transferred to our ship with assistance. Settle into your cabin and explore the range of facilities on board your ship has to offer as you set sail along the Rhine River. Sit back with a welcome cocktail in one of the lounge areas, followed by a tasty welcome dinner.

This morning, you will have some free time to enjoy the boat and take in the passing landscape as you sail down the Moselle, onto the town of Cochem where we will arrive in the early afternoon.
Cochem and visit to the Reichsburg
In the most romantic part of the Moselle Valley, where the river curves between two hiking paradises - Eifel and Hunsrück - lies the old town of Cochem. Today we discover this beautiful town on a guided excursion through its narrow streets and twisty alleys, the lovingly restored half-timbered houses with the typical slate roofs, the historical marketplace, medieval town gates, churches and walls. We will continue onto the magnificent Reichsburg Castle, situated on a precipitous rock high above the town, dominates the landscape. In the late afternoon we will sail towards Alken for a short stop before continuing onto Rudesheim
Explore Rudesheim & Koblenz
Rudesheim
This morning we will arrive in the romantic town of Rüdesheim, surrounded by gentle sloping vineyards and famous for its local wine, brandy and specialty. Today we will take the traditional Winzerespress from the pier to the Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet” where a musical adventure awaits is as sit back and relax the self – playing musical instruments, after this fanciating experience we will continue onto the picturesque town of Rudesheim. Here we will explore Rüdesheim's old town, the Drosselgasse famous for its wine houses, we will continue our tour to visit the Eagle Tower along the city walls.
Koblenz
In the afternoon we will arrive in Koblenz where we have an included guided walking tour of the city. Koblenz is one of the most beautiful and oldest towns in Germany, with over 2,000 years of history. On the guided walk through the romantic streets between the St. Castor Basilica and the Liebfrauenkirche (the Church of our Beloved Lady) you will discover the most important sights of Koblenz. This tour would not be complete without a visit to the Emperor Wilhelm Memorial at the famous German Corner and the town’s landmark, the Schängel Fountain at the Town Hall. At the end of the walk you will reach the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers and the ropeway of Koblenz.

This morning, we will depart Koblenz and sail towards Koningswinter, situated on the right bank of the Rhine.

In the afternoon we will arrive into Koningswinter where we will have the afternoon at leisure this picturesque area.
Captain's Gala Dinner
This evening, we will enjoy a Captain's Gala Dinner on board as we sail towards Cologne.
Dusseldorf & Return Home
Disembark and Dusseldorf City Tour
It is time to say goodbye after a full week of delights aboard the Amadeus ship. After breakfast, you will meet with your local guide and be transferred to Dusseldorf city centre for a guided tour prior to continuing your journey to Dusseldorf airport for your flight home. (Luggage will be stored in coach)
