Your Guided Group Holiday To Namibia 

On this small group guided holiday, we’ll discover the best of Namibia and experience one of the top safari destinations in Africa. Our African holiday will begin with a short tour of Windhoek in a safari truck, the capital city of Namibia, before travelling to Sossusvlei or the “Dune Sea.” Located in the Namib Naukluft Park and one of Namibia's most spectacular landmarks, we will enjoy the sunrise over the red dunes and there’s an opportunity to climb the highest Dune in the area, ‘Big Daddy’, at 325 metres. We'll travel through Damaraland and see Brandberg, the highest mountain in Namibia, before beginning our search for the elusive Desert Elephants on a safari trek. We will also explore Etosha, Africa’s 3rd largest game park, which showcases the best of free roaming Namibia wildlife and rarest species. In Otjiwa there will be a high possibility of spotting the White Rhino, as they are more concentrated this area. Experience Namibia’s top attractions with us and discover its incredible wildlife.

Arrive in Windhoek, Namibia

Transfer by Safari truck to Otjiwa

On arrival in Windhoek, we will be met by our expert guide.  Let’s begin our tour as we depart for Otjiwa in our Safari truck, which will be our main mode of transport for the trip.

On arrival in Otijwa, we’ll check in to our hotel and the rest of our day is at leisure to relax and soak up the African atmosphere.

The transfer from Windhoek to Otijwa will take four hours approximately (260km).

Please note this tour is a small group tour with a maximum of 15 people.

Okonjima - AfriCat Foundation Tour

Guided tour of AfriCats’ Carnivore Care Centre

Rested and refreshed, let’s savour a leisurely breakfast at our hotel.  Before lunch, we’ll have our first encounter with wildlife on a guided tour of the AfriCat Foundation in Okonjima. The AfriCats’ Carnivore Care Centre rescues and rehabilitates animals who are then given a second chance to live in the wild, when released back on to the Okonjima Nature Reserve.

Afternoon Safari Drive, Otjiwa Nature Reserve

Let’s discover more of Africa’s hidden treasures with our first safari drive, including a two-hour game drive in search of wildlife in Otjiwa Nature Reserve. Otijwa Safari Lodge is one of the oldest game farms in Namibia and hosts around 25 species, including the white rhino.

After our safari, we can enjoy some time at leisure before joining our fellow travellers for dinner (included).

Etosha National Park

Transfer to Etosha National Park East

Let's see more, as we transfer to Etosha National Park East, the third biggest park in Africa. The drive will take approximately four hours (322km). The park is home to many species including the endangered black rhino and even leopard. It is also is one of the few places where animals still roam freely, unrestricted by human influence.

Relax, sit back and enjoy the scenic drive towards our hotel. Lunch is included today.

Etosha East National Park

Experience more, on a four-hour guided game drive in an open truck : one of the best ways to enjoy a safari and a great opportunity for taking photos! Drink in the beauty of the natural landscape and the variety of wildlife, in wide-open grasslands featuring large camel thorn and Mopani trees, and an enormous salt pan that can be seen from space! The diverse vegetation accounts for the abundance of wildlife that thrives in the park. Lunch is included today

Transfer to Etosha National Park – South

Full-Day Safari drive, Etosha National Park

Join us on a day of adventure as we transfer from East to South Etosha, enjoying a full day safari in search of all the African animals. The drive will take around four hours (275km).  During this time we take the opportunity to search near waterholes where an abundance of wildlife congregate, especially during the dry seasons. Birders will also love the experience; more than 340 bird species have been counted in Etosha National Park.  We’ll keep our eyes peeled for black rhino, elephant, lion, giraffe, and even leopards

We enjoy a lunch stop in the park along the way.

Transfer to Damaraland

Scenic Drive to Damaraland

Today’s destination is Damaraland!

After breakfast, we depart for the untamed and rugged place that is Damaraland; the journey will take around five hours (300 km).  We uncover the region’s scenic beauty during our drive, with Brandberg Mountain as a backdrop. A stop is included along the way, where we can stretch our legs and enjoy lunch (included).

Damaraland and Desert Elephant Safari

This morning, we can enjoy a relaxing breakfast and perhaps a lazy lie-in.

For those who want to see more, there is the possibility to book an optional excursion (depending on availability) to the Rock Engravings of the San Bushmen at Twyfelfontein ; depicting animals rather than humans but offering insights into the life of hunter gatherers through the ages.   We will also see the ancient Burnt Mountain and the geological phenomenon known as the Organ Pipes (similar to the Giants Causeway).

We enjoy lunch at the lodge before our guided excursion.

Join us as we go in search of the elusive Desert Elephant. The Desert Elephant can only be found in two places in the world, Mali and Namibia. These majestic animals have adapted to their dry, semi-desert environment by having a smaller body mass, longer legs, and rather larger feet than other elephants. They have also been designated as a top priority for their protection by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Keep your eyes peeled and cameras ready!

Also included is a visit to Damara Living Museum where the traditions of the indigenous Damara people, including blacksmithery, leather tanning, craftmaking, dancing and singing can be observed.

Transfer to Swakopmund

Swakopmund & Panoramic Orientation Tour

This morning we depart for Swakopmund, one of Namibia’s most famous tourist destinations.  The drive to this coastal town will take around five and a half hours (335 km).  Established by German colonists in the late 1800s, Swakopmund is located between the Atlantic Ocean and Namib dunes.  The town is filled with historic buildings, museums and other unique landmarks making it a great place to explore in our free time.

Lunch is included today.

On arrival, we will experience a one-hour orientation tour of the town before checking in to our hotel in the afternoon.

Swakopmund – Mondesa Township

This morning we can explore Swakopmund in our own time as we take a stroll down to the jetty, spend time on the pier and soak up the atmosphere and views.

There may be the possibility to join in some optional tours:

See more, with a three-hour optional Living Desert tour which takes place just outside Swakopmund in the coastal dune belt.  Learn about some of the life forms that are not always so easy to spot with the naked eye ; from Track Palmato Geckos, sand diving lizards, fog basking beetles, Chameleons, snakes, and spiders, during this three-hour exploration. End the tour with a short dune drive.  Our guide will be happy to provide additional details and help book this optional excursion.

There may be the possibility to join in some optional tours, including :

Experience a half-day optional Sandwich Harbour excursion. This morning guided excursion, is in a 4 x 4 vehicle, and will take you into the lower Kuiseb Delta, among hummock- duned valleys and salt pans, into Namib – Naukluft Park (where ocean and desert come together) and Sandwich Harbour Lagoon. Enjoy a refreshing stop in the dunes for a glass of sparkling wine with snacks. There will be wonderful photo opportunities along the way, for expert and budding photographers alike.

Transfer to Sossusvlei

This morning we head southbound towards Sossusvlei. Located in the heart of the Namib Naukluft Park, Sossusvlei has some of the highest sand dunes in the world and can inspire an air of isolation and tranquillity. The closer we get to our destination, the higher and redder the dunes become.  Our journey will be over five and a half hours (356km). Lunch is included today.

Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

Guided Excursion to Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, and ‘Big Daddy’

Let's see more of this beautiful country! This morning, to avoid the heat during the day,  we depart very early for a guided excursion into Sossusvlei and the Deadvlei.  We arrive in time to catch the sunrise and take advantage of some great photo opportunities. The Deadvlei is beautiful, with its stark scenery, orange dunes, white cracked ground, and the 900-year-old Camelthorn trees coming out of the saltpan - an iconic image of Namibia! We will also have the option to climb the highest dune “Big Daddy” at 325 metres. It is a tough climb, however, we’ll rewarded with a panoramic view of the Deadvlei.   As an alternative, we can choose free time to explore around the Deadvlei and take in its natural beauty.

After this morning’s early start, we depart the Deadvlei in time for a well-deserved lunch (included).
